EXHIBITION 2008:
Labyrinth of Abstraction
by Andaleeb PREEMA
"Can we really capture the
true meaning of things? Do we ever mean what we say or say what we mean.
We live in a world where meanings are rarely what it ought to be. But
our search for truth, our yearning for purity remains an eternal quest.
My emotions, my thoughts as depicted in my works rarely follow a
straight path. Is anything straight? Aren’t we all caught up in a web
of maze searching for the way out? I have tried to use imagination as a
map to maneuver among the diverse thoughts. I have tried to weave a
common thread through the varied paths. I hope it will lead you through
a labyrinth of meditation, debate and deep examination."
"I forced
myself to
contradict myself
and my work
in order to avoid
confirmation."
